Read moreIn order to minimise the number of poorly maintained vehicles on the road, a Certificate of Roadworthiness is required in Victoria when a vehicle is sold or if a used vehicle is to be re-registered.
MD Auto Care car service in Bendigo provides Certificates of Roadworthiness and inspects diesel, petrol and LPG autogas cars. You can receive a certificate after your car has passed a roadworthy inspection ensuring that key components have not worn or deteriorated. In some cases a Certificate of Roadworthiness is also required to clear a Vehicle Defect Notice or a Notice of Unroadworthiness.
MD Auto Care have a professional automotive workshop which is a licensed vehicle tester in Golden Square which services Bendigo, Kangaroo Flat, Golden Gully, Spring Gully, Maiden Gully, Big Hill, Mandurang, North Bendigo, East Bendigo, Kennington, Flora Hill, Epsom, Strathfieldsaye and surrounding areas.
A Certificate of Roadworthiness can only be issued by a licensed vehicle tester, operating from a nominated garage or service station. MD Auto Care is a licensed vehicle testing station that can inspect your vehicle and issue a Certificate of Roadworthiness.
To make sure the vehicle is safe for normal road use major safety items of your vehicle are checked during a typical roadworthy inspection:
Please note: The roadworthiness test is NOT a check of general condition or the mechanical reliability of the vehicle and it does NOT mean that your vehicle is in top condition without any wear or deterioration and non-safety related accessories (air conditioner, rear window demister, electric windows, rear-window wipers etc.) are working. Furthermore, the test does not guarantee the items checked will continue to function after the inspection. If you require a comprehensive check on the overall technical condition and reliability of your vehicle, arrange a a fully comprehensive 150 point vehicle inspection with MD Auto Care.
If any of the checked items fail to meet the standard, you will receive a rejection report and have seven days to repair the issues and return the vehicle for a second inspection of the failed items. If more than seven days elapse a complete roadworthy inspection must again be performed on the vehicle.
There is no fixed cost for obtaining a Certificate of Roadworthiness. It may depend on the age, type and condition of the vehicle being examined.
For the purposes of a transaction a Certificate of Roadworthiness is current for 30 days from the date of issue. You can find more details on Roadworthiness Section on VicRoads website.
